Freeform Sapphire Solitaire with Sculptural Mount

We had to do something special for this remarkable sapphire. Rich blue-green sections outline a clear yellow pool inside the stone. Through it you can see the sculptural joins in the web-like mount, which is finished with simple, delicate talon claws. The band has also been kept simple with a bit of weight at the base to balance the piece nicely. 

Cast in 100% recycled 18 karat yellow gold. The sapphire is unheated and untreated and cut in an offset pentagonal freeform, and is sourced from Central Queensland, Australia.
