This incredible 2.27 carat sapphire practically glows with shades of cobalt, ultramarine, and Aegean blue, with faint flowing streaks through the top of the stone. Its sculptural mount was carved by hand in wax and has a smoothly dripped texture to the band, with the area surrounding the stone reminiscent of rocky shores surrounding a glacial lake.
Cast into Fairmined 18 karat yellow gold from Iquira, Columbia, the ring is finished with elegant talon claws arranged geometrically around the sapphire.
The sapphire is unheated and untreated and traceable to the source in Queensland, Australia.
